Commercial Loan Officer

Job Description:
A loan officer working with our company will be well versed in our programs and our services in order to sell the loan programs to our customers based on their needs and qualifications. The loan officer will need to conduct meetings with investors and business owners who want a loan to purchase/refinance an investment property or capital to start or continue their business. They will need to learn lending guidelines and work with clients to gather the necessary documentation to move forward with an application. The loan officer’s purpose is to provide our clientele with financing options in order for them to move their company forward, while at the same time making them successful and profitable.
Here are just a few of the duties that will need to be fulfilled in a typical day:
Responsibilities:
- Learn our guidelines to explain and be able to guide potential customers on all loan programs available.
- Communicate the risks and benefits of the loan as well as the term sheet (LOI) offered
- Collect data from customers, and evaluate the applicant’s financial statements, potential assets, prior real estate experience and exit strategy from the loan.
- Ensure all necessary information and documentation is submitted to the loan underwriting team and properly recorded on the company’s lending software.
- Verifies information and initial documentation from the applicant and is a lesion between the financial institution to communicate an approval or denial on a loan application.
- Represent the company at networking events and social gatherings.
Skills Desired/Required:
- 5+ years in working in commercial lending or related fields.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, economics
- Ability to thrive with a commission-oriented compensation structure
- Knowledge in asset based lending
- Ability to handle rejection
- Must have knowledge in using Microsoft, Adobe, Zoom, and CRM Zoho etc.
- Excellent written, interpersonal skills, and strong customer service orientation
- Ability to work in a team environment and independently.
